Discrete manufacturing

GTMI connects operator workflows, equipment data and enterprise transactions so discrete manufacturing teams can execute, record and review production work.

Connected production
Operational context

For manufacturers replacing disconnected operator tools, integrating equipment or building reliable production reporting.

  • Industrial application delivery using Ignition, modern web stacks, and PostgreSQL

  • Equipment connectivity, label automation, ERP write-back, and reporting patterns

  • Product, release, and rollout governance across shared manufacturing systems

Connected production

Connect the operator workflow to equipment and business systems.

01

Bring the production flow into view

Discrete manufacturing problems often sit between the operator, the equipment, and the enterprise systems around the line. Instructions may live in one place, machine values in another, and the final production report in a spreadsheet assembled after the shift. GTMI brings that flow into one view so the team can see where guided execution, equipment connectivity, transaction handling, or governed reporting will make a practical difference.

02

Follow one production flow

A focused assessment starts with one product, process, or reporting decision. GTMI maps the instruction, operator steps, equipment events, labels, production transactions, exceptions, and records involved. The review shows where data is entered twice, where ownership is unclear, which delays affect the work, and which systems must remain authoritative. That map gives the programme a defined scope before implementation begins.

03

Connect equipment and enterprise systems

GTMI can develop equipment and enterprise interfaces using Kepware, OPC UA, Ignition, PostgreSQL and REST services, including outbox processing, ERP write-back, quality routing and label automation where they fit the process. An engagement uses the technologies already present where they fit the requirement. It also defines failure behaviour, retry and escalation, source-of-truth rules, access boundaries, and support ownership so the interface can be operated after the project team leaves.

04

Make production information usable

Reporting work begins with the decision a production, engineering, or operations team needs to make. GTMI traces the measure to its source, documents the calculation and timing, and identifies manual corrections or missing context. The resulting approach may use an API, historian, separate data store, Grafana, or Power BI. The client approves the operational definition and ownership of each measure.

Prepare the application for use beyond a pilot

The first work package may produce a process and system map, integration architecture, guided-work prototype, reporting brief, or staged implementation plan. GTMI connects that initial scope to the software structure, release controls, deployment approach, and support model needed beyond a pilot. The client provides the process knowledge, product requirements, site constraints, safety responsibilities, and acceptance criteria that govern the work.
